    This cassowary found me in the forest while i was photographing a large amethystine python. Located in the rainforest of Kuranda in the wet tropics of North Qld. The Cassowary is the largest native animal found in Australia’s tropical rainforests. They grow to two metres in height and over 60kg in weight. They play a vital role in dispersing native seeds in the rainforests through their scats which germinate and help rejuvinate the forests. A beautiful living dinosaur.
