    The Scaly Tree Fern ( Cyanthea cooperi ) grows to 15 metres in height.The apex of the trunk and unfurling crosiers are particularly attractive, covered as they are with conspicuous long, silky, straw colored scales. The crown is widely spread and the light green fronds may reach a length of 4–6 metres. The green, photosynthetic part of the plant is often referred to as a frond. New leaves typically expand by the unrolling of a tight spiral called a fiddlehead fern. A spiral of never-ending growth.
